Baby Swim | Evie 8 Month Swimming Achievements
Early learn to swim lessons should focus on breath control, submersion and free floating. By building the skills slowly we develop a love and respect for the water. By 8 months of age if we slowly build skills the baby should be able to show positive signs to conditions, perform submersions without ingesting water, be introduced to basic kicking actions, develop a strong grip on fingers and T-shirts, initiate independent floating skills.
During this stage babies are like little sponges soaking up information from their new environment. Learning takes place via baby’s senses so the stimulation of sight, sound, taste, touch and smell becomes vitally important for baby’s development. The baby swim lesson provides a perfect opportunity for stimulating the senses. During the swimming lesson have fun and play with your baby.
All baby swimming classes must be conducted in a safe and positive learn to swim environment. Each Baby and Toddler should be encouraged to learn to swim according to their individual readiness. The learn to swim process should follow a step by step process including water familiarisation, breath control, submersion, floating and propulsion. Adult supervision is always required when in and around the water. To learn all about how to teach swimming to babies visit my website and get my online program at babyswim.info
