How To Fix Your Kick #theraceclub
A very common issue among both age group and masters swimmers that we see at The Race Club is an inefficient kick characterized by over bending of the knees and sinking legs. The root issue is, most frequently immobile ankles, specifically poor plantar flexion.
When a swimmer is unable to properly plantar flex the ankle they are forced to exaggerate the kick to generate more propulsion. This exaggeration leads to greater frontal drag and in turn slows the swimmer down.
In this video coach Gary goes over one of our favorite stretches to improve plantar flexion and improve your kick without even getting in the water.
