Jake Hirst, what is it you would say you do here, exactly? It’s time to meet the Yankees’ newest assistant hitting coach, a guy who might be a newcomer to the big-league staff this year, but one that Yankees players have known well for years. Hirst took some time during his preparation for the 2026 season to talk to Yankees Magazine deputy editor Jon Schwartz about his philosophy, his strengths, and his excitement about debuting in the majors. Then, YES Network’s Meredith Marakovits stops by to chat about Hirst’s impact on the team’s offense, her travel routine and the debut of stud prospect Elmer Rodriguez.
