PHILLIES POSTCAST: WIN THE WILDEST GAME of the season, 14-9 over Nationals!

The Philadelphia Phillies SCORE 12 RUNS after the 6th inning to win a WILD ONE against the Washington Nationals, 14-9

The Phillies trailed 5-3 going into the bottom of the 8th inning, before J.T. Realmuto hit a three-run double in and out of the glove of a diving James Wood in right that gave the Phillies a 6-5 lead.

Then in the bottom of the 8th, Orion Kerkering walked a batter on five pitches, hit another and then surrendered a three-run homer before recording an out. He allowed the Nats to take a 8-6 lead.  

In the top of the 9th, the Phillies got some TWO-OUT LIGHTNING! Trea Turner came up with a two-out single, followed by a Brandon Marsh game tying two-run home run! Then with the score tied at eight, Bryce Harper and Derek Hill recorded back-to-back singles, setting the stage for Bryson Stott to come up with a THREE-RUN HOMER that JUST stayed fair down the right field line to give the Phillies an 11-8 lead and give the Phillies their seventh, eighth and ninth runs of the 7th 8th and 9th innings combined.    

Jesus Luzardo started for the Phillies and allowed five runs over 6.2ip allowing on seven hits and three walks. He also struck out 13 batters tying his career high.  

Edmundo Sosa got the Phillies two-runs back in the top of the 5th hitting a two-run homer to left-center field. Sosa added another run by beating out a double-play ball in the 7th to score the Phillies third run.
