Great Smoky Mountains Half Marathon 2025 | Vacation Races

This past weekend I got to run the Great Smoky Mountains Half Marathon with Vacation Races! This is my second time running this half marathon, and I'm very happy that I came back. I really do like running with Vacation Races because the courses are just so beautiful!

It did storm pretty bad before the race, but it ended before 5am, which was great because race start was at 7am. With it being 68-70 degrees at the start and it having stormed not long before we started, it got very humid, fast. The humidity definitely got to me, especially around mile 5 1/2, and I started to slow down a good bit. Plus, my hip issues flared up just before mile 3 and then mile mile 9 to the rest of the race. I still had a lot of fun and would highly recommend running a Vacation Races race.
