Baumi on fire with a brace! | RB Leipzig - Borussia Dortmund | Bundesliga Recap
Soccer
From the outset, it was an intense game with pace and chances at both ends. RBL made their first mark after 20 minutes: Yan Diomande collected a long ball on the left, drove to the byline and played a low cross to the near post. Christoph Baumgartner met it perfectly and finished with the outside of his boot to make it 1-0. After a brief offside check, the goal was given.
Shortly before half-time, it was 2-0 – again from the left, again low to the near post. This time, Baumgartner kept the inside of his foot on the ball and slotted it past BVB keeper Gregor Kobel.
Dortmund came back immediately after the restart: A BVB corner flew over several heads to the far post, where Rômulo unfortunately headed the ball into his own net – 2-1.
The game remained at a high level after that. Leipzig defended solidly for a long time and kept threatening themselves – but in stoppage time, they suffered a late setback: Fabio Silva scored in the 95th minute to make it 2-2.
