Where is Yuki Ishikawa? The Real Reason He Disappeared from Perugia. For the past couple of months, fans of Sir Safety Perugia have been asking the same question: where is Yuki Ishikawa?

The Japanese star and one of the team’s most important outside hitters has been noticeably absent from the court, and the reason comes down to an unfortunate injury. Ishikawa suffered a right knee injury earlier in the 2025–2026 season, specifically a knee sprain that forced him to step away from full training and competitive matches.

This wasn’t just a minor issue. Knee injuries, especially in volleyball, can be very delicate and require careful recovery. For a player like Ishikawa, who relies heavily on jumping, quick direction changes, and stability in both attack and reception, rushing back too soon could make things much worse.

Because of that, Perugia’s medical staff made the decision to prioritize his long-term health. Instead of risking further damage, they placed him on a structured rehabilitation program, keeping him out of matches over the past weeks and even months.

Another important factor is that Ishikawa has had knee-related problems before, which makes the situation even more sensitive. The club wants him fully fit, not just for the end of the season and the playoffs, but also for his responsibilities with the Japanese national team.

So, his absence isn’t about form or tactics. It’s simply about recovery.

The good news is that this kind of injury, while serious, is usually temporary with proper treatment. The focus now is on getting Ishikawa back to 100 percent so he can return stronger and continue performing at the highest level.

Until then, enjoy his best moments with Perugia.
