Elaborating on his close relationship with former Mets manager Carlos Mendoza, Juan Soto talks about how Mendoza made him feel comfortable in the clubhouse when he first came to the Mets. Soto knows personnel moves are made on the roster all the time but hearing Mendoza being let go was unexpected and "tough to see him go." While Soto is not too familiar with interim manager Andy Green, Mets rookie starter Zach Thornton, who threw six strong innings on Friday night knows him well from the minor leagues and is looking forward to working with him.
