The Iceland international has extended his stay with the Bees until the summer of 2030, with a club option for a further two years.
The 24-year-old has made 12 appearances for Brentford in all competitions. He played a key role in the Bees’ run to the Carabao Cup quarter-final this season, featuring in every tie and saving two penalties in a shoot-out victory over Aston Villa in the third round.
“I’m delighted Hákon is signing a new deal,” said head coach Keith Andrews.
“He’s a very liked individual, he’s got some very close connections within the club, he’s an outstanding goalkeeper - we’ve seen that when he’s played this season - and we’re really happy that he’s signed a new deal.”
