You Have to Be Kidding Me… NHL Goalies Put on a Show in Week 11
Hockey
Week 11 was packed with jaw-dropping saves, goal-line chaos, and moments that left announcers completely stunned.
Jonathan Quick kicked things off with a spectacular glove save while falling backward on a Kieffer Sherwood rebound, and Pittsburgh’s Arturs Šilovs sprawled across the crease to rob Drake Batherson with the glove.
Anton Forsberg flashed leather on Dominic James, Calvin Pickard turned aside Joel Eriksson Ek with a quality blocker stop, and rookie Jacob Fowler capped his night by recording his first NHL shutout for the Montreal Canadiens.
Elvis Merzļikins stacked the glove on top of the pad to deny Jackson LaCombe, while utter chaos broke loose in the Calgary Flames crease against Vegas with Devin Cooley right in the middle of the scramble.
Jake Oettinger snatched a glove save on Auston Matthews, and a Devils broadcast exclaimed “you have to be kidding me” after Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen slid across to deny Arseny Gritsyuk.
Jacob Dobeš delivered a save-of-the-year candidate, launching through traffic to keep the puck out, Jordan Binnington found a way to stop Declan Carlile, and Philipp Grubauer closed the week by making a blind save on Troy Terry before holding the line as Ducks players hacked away at a loose puck.
