What changes when the driver in your bag already feels like the best one you’ve ever owned?
At the Titleist Performance Institute, Tom Coyne of The Golfer’s Journal, Mike Shade of Chasing Scratch and Neil Schuster of No Laying Up bring three different swings, three different misses and the same healthy skepticism. GT was already working. The question was whether the New Titleist GTS drivers could offer something more meaningful than a few extra yards.
The answer starts with fitting. Lucas and the Titleist team use GTS adjustability to match center of gravity, loft, weight settings and launch conditions to the way each player delivers the club. The goal is not simply more speed. It is more playable speed - a driver that helps a golfer swing freely, tighten the miss and trust the ball flight under pressure.
One fitting begins with a right miss. Maintaining loft, reducing spin and moving weight to help the face close more naturally brings the good shot and the miss into a much tighter window for Tom.
The next challenge is launch. Mike’s GT driver was already a favorite, but the right GTS3 setup helps create a higher, deeper flight that stays in the air longer, carries farther and gives him a launch window he can take to the course.
With Neil, the answer comes through GTS4. Center of gravity and heel weighting work together to help control spin, improve launch and keep the left miss further out of play, while adding ball speed and 18 yards of carry.
The result is a driver setup that builds on what is already working. Tighter dispersion. More consistent launch conditions. Greater confidence off the tee. And performance gains that translate from the fitting bay to the golf course
