The Spurs' collapse didn't start with a bad shot or a bad call. It started with a broken lob.
Wemby and Cat get tangled, the Knicks get a free run out, Bridges sprints in undetected, and just like that a 17-point lead starts bleeding. Fox doesn't see him. Wemby can't block it. Momentum shifts in one possession.
From there it's panic mode. A handoff three feet from half court, Wemby turning his back when he should be a target, and the refs missing a jersey pull, an illegal kick, and what I'd call a pretty clear travel by Towns before he hits a tough shot anyway.
Then Towns catches Wemby in the face with the elbow on a step-through. Similar enough to the flagrant they called earlier in the series. No call.
Brunson lays it in. Lead is seven. Five minutes left.
This is what a collapse looks like in slow motion. #shorts
