Quincy Wilson Breaks His Own High School Record in 45.37 | New Balance Nationals Indoor 2026
Running
Quincy Wilson (Bullis School) broke his own national indoor 400m record with a 45.37 at New Balance Nationals Indoor, edging Jayden Deleon by just 0.009 seconds to complete a four-year sweep of the event.
Wilson became the first athlete to win New Balance Nationals Indoor 400m all four years of high school — from freshman to senior — cementing his place as the greatest high school 400m runner of all time.
Deleon, a Maryland rival headed to LSU, pushed Wilson to the absolute limit. With 50 meters to go, it looked like Wilson might lose — but he held on by the narrowest margin in the race's history.
By the numbers:
Wilson: 45.37 (new national indoor record)
Deleon: 45.38 (No. 2 all-time indoors in the U.S.)
Previous record: 45.66 (Wilson, 2025 New Balance Indoor Grand Prix)
What's next: The rematch is expected at New Balance Outdoor Nationals in June.
