The trade that ruined the Wizards
One trade can change the league. And that's what happened in 1998.
When the Wizards traded Chris Webber to the Kings for Mitch Richmond and Otis Thorpe, they crushed whatever up-and-coming, no-longer-terrible momentum they had. While at the same time creating a new Western Conference Super team (albeit a temporary one) in the Kings. It's not easy to be a Wizards fan, I'll say.
