Behind the Shield Ep. 4 | Alabama's First Lacrosse National Team Player
Spot Sports video
Lacrosse isn't sanctioned in Alabama. Football is king, baseball runs deep, and lacrosse barely exists. So how does a kid from Birmingham end up as the starting goalie for the U.S. U20 Men's National Team?
That's Anderson Moore's story.
In Episode 4 of Behind the Shield, we go back to where it all started. Anderson's parents and his high school coach sit down to trace the early moments that shaped one of the nation's top young goalies. A kid who had no pipeline, no program, and no blueprint to follow. Just the goal and the grind.
Now he's starting in goal for the Georgetown Hoyas and representing his country at the 2025 World Championship in South Korea. He's doing it as the first Alabama native to ever earn a spot on a USA Lacrosse U.S. National Team.
This is what an outlier looks like.
Behind the Shield is a seven-episode series documenting the journey to the 2025 World Lacrosse Championship with the U20 Men's National Team, narrated by Mitchell Pehlke.
