Emil Hegle Svendsen won eight Olympic medals during his biathlon career. His journey began at the 2010 Olympics in Vancouver, where he won two gold and one silver medal. At the 2014 Olympics in Sochi, he won gold in the men's 15 km mass start after an extremely close photo finish against Martin Fourcade. He won his second gold medal in the mixed relay. At his final Olympics in PyeongChang in 2018, Svendsen won two silver and one bronze medal.
The Norwegian biathlon legend retired in April 2018.
