The TRUTH About Project B
I had a chance to talk to someone who works very close with Project B and was able to get some answers.
In this video, we break down what’s true and what’s not about the new global women’s hoops league. Including: the “Saudi-funded” claims, why the events company Sela is involved, the league’s tech-first streaming platform strategy, and what the latest signing of Alyssa Thomas means for the WNBA and Unrivaled.
We also get into timelines and scheduling, new player offers, seven-figure salaries, and how a women-first rollout could later include a men’s component.
Founders come from big tech (Facebook and Skype), and the priority is clear: distribution and engagement before monetization. It should be very interesting to see what other WNBA stars sign and how the league executes its launch.
Let me know what you guys think in the comments!
