The UEFA Champions League's first round of action is in the books, as Matchday 8 of the League Phase concluded yesterday, January 29th. Of the five clubs the Italian Serie A fielded in the competition this year, Sergio Conceicao's AC Milan & Thiago Motta's Juventus found themselves in the knockout-round playoffs alongside Gian Piero Gasperini's Atalanta. While Bologna found themselves knocked out of the competition altogether, Simone Inzaghi's Inter have auto-qualified for then next round.
