Novak Djokovic finally completed a career Golden Slam by winning a much coveted Gold Medal in a rematch of last month's Wimbledon Final against Carlos Alcaraz. Meanwhile, Britain’s Andy Murray finally drew the curtains on his tennis career after bowing out alongside Dan Evans in the doubles event.
China’s Qinwen Zheng made history by winning the gold for her country, defeating Roland Garros Queen Iga Swiatek en route to the Final, and dispatching an in form Donna Vekic in the Gold Medal match. Jasmine Paolini also put behind her recent run of Final defeats to clinch the Olympics women’s doubles title with compatriot Sara Errani
With mixed doubles joy for Czech pair Machac and Siniakova as well as Angie Kerber also having played her last competitive match, there are plenty of talking points from the Paris Olympics.
