FINALLY after 3 years we have another women's night session match at Roland-Garros with Aryna Sabalenka taking on Naomi Osaka in the fourth round. It's been a long wait and arguably only because there was no other choice for the schedulers and Amelie Mauresmo than to got ot the women because the tournament has lost all of it's male star power with no Alcaraz, Sinner or Djokovic still in at this stage.
The question we are asking is, if this is a win for Women's tennis or if it highlights that the French Open will only schedule a Women's Night session match when there are no male stars left in draw. Does it take extreme circumstances and a severe lack of star power on the men's side as well as a multiple slam winner clash of Osaka vs Sabalenka to get ONE night session match every three years?
