Lokomotiv vs. Zenit | HIGHLIGHTS | Bronze Match (4th Game) | SuperLeague 2025-2026
Volleyball
Lokomotiv started the match incredibly aggressively, driven by the usual full stands at their home arena. Vladislav Babkevich had a hard time at first for Zenit (he had only 29% of his attacks converted in the first set), and the most productive player suddenly became ... Simeon Nikolov, who earned 4 points in attack. It was in attack, not on the block or on the serve. The Novosibirsk players were very careful with every set and did not make mistakes in attack.
In the second set, Zenit initially took the lead (8:5), but Lokomotiv demonstrated excellent defense on Brazhnyuk's serve, capitalizing on their opponent's mistakes and taking the lead at 15:13. It was only after Pakshin was replaced by Stanislav Dineikin that the St. Petersburg team managed to break through. Then, Lyzik's powerful serve was neatly guided into the Zenit court by Omar Kurbanov, who used both hands to pass the ball – 19:16. In the end, Babkevich found his own Kurbanov, and by the end of the match, his ace tied the score at 21:21. Kazachenkov took a break, and then there was a crucial play that Nikolov won twice, and both times he was not blocked. The second one turned out to be successful. But what was happening on the court was so great that the teams played to a balance – Zenit managed to equalize at the flag – 24:24. There, at the right moment, Lokomotiv worked on the full scale in the defense – Kurbanov managed to put his hand under the ball that was almost landing, and Kazachenkov finished the party with a shock attack.
In the third set, the same team continued to take the lead, but the guests were no longer allowed to take liberties, as they had done in the second set. Loco had a significant advantage in attack, with excellent selfless defense and constant, unstoppable aggression on the serve, resulting in a score of 25:19 and a 3:0 victory.
The most productive players in the match were the diagonals of both teams, with Ilya Kazachenkov and Vladislav Babkevich each scoring 15 points.
