Clarets defeated at the death at Turf Moor
Burnley's mini-revival ended with the cruellest of defeats at home to Brentford on Saturday afternoon.
After collecting four points from a possible six on the road from matches against Crystal Palace and Chelsea in recent weeks, Scott Parker's side succumbed to a last-gasp 4-3 loss to the Bees at Turf Moor, leaving them eight points adrift of safety with ten Premier League fixtures remaining this season.
Brentford led 3-1 at the break. Mikkel Damsgaard (10), Igor Thiago (25) and Kevin Schade (34) put the visitors in the ascendancy, before Jaidon Anthony's shot deflected in off Michael Kayode on the stroke of half-time to give Burnley hope.
Anthony pulled a second back two minutes into the second period, before Zian Flemming headed home an unstoppable header from an outrageous Hannibal cross to make it 3-3 on the hour!
But there was a late twist in the tale, when Damsgaard bagged Brentford's fourth, and the winning goal, in the third minute of second half stoppage-time.
