Cole Hocker's 2026 Indoor Rampage Continues With 1000m PB Before Mile vs. Sam Ruthe
Running
Olympic 1500m champion Cole Hocker ran a quiet personal best to win the 1000m at the Doc Hale Invitational, continuing his dominant 2026 indoor season. Training partner Cooper Teare finished second in 2:17.76.
By the numbers:
2:16.30 — Hocker's winning time (personal best and facility record)
1:49.46 — His 800m split
26.85 — Final 200m split
This follows Hocker's world-leading 8:07.3 two-mile performance at the Millrose Games last weekend.
Hocker is preparing for the mile at this weekend's meet in Winston-Salem.
