‘Today, Home is playing. Today, Dortmund are playing.’ | In memory of Mehmet Kubaşık | Documentary
Soccer
On April 4, 2006, Mehmet Kubaşık, a resident of Dortmund, was murdered in his kiosk by the National Socialist Underground (NSU). Since then, his daughter Gamze has been fighting for accountability. Through her political education work, which she also conducts in cooperation with Borussia Dortmund, she educates people about racism, discrimination, and right-wing extremist violence, and shares her own perspective as a survivor. We accompanied Gamze with our camera: at home, at her work, and at SIGNAL IDUNA PARK during the match against Bayer Leverkusen, where she and her family were guests to join BVB in remembering her father, Mehmet.
