Dynamo vs. Zenit | HIGHLIGHTS | SemiFinals (4th Game) | SuperLeague 2025-2026
Volleyball
The equal course of the opening set is interrupted in the middle. Central blocker Ilya Vlasov torments the opponent's reception with a glider, while the blue-and-white captain Pavel Pankov and Dmitry Zhuk score points on the block. After a few changes, Pankov himself takes the stage. The Moscow setter delivers a long series of diverse serves with two aces, effectively settling the outcome of the set (24:18). The game ends with a block-out by Maxim Sapozhkov of Dynamo, 25:19 and 1:0.
Dynamo's powerful start in the second set sends the guests' setter Igor Kobzar to the substitutes' square (Igor Tisevich took his place). After a disappointing start, the St. Petersburg team gradually catches up (1:4 - 5:5) and eventually takes the lead (12:9). With their hard work on defense and successful set plays, the Moscow team restores balance, leading to a close match. Vlasov's block earns an important break point, followed by Sapozhkov's ace. Dinamo has two set points, but the visitors manage to bring the game back into balance. In a game of more-or-less, both teams have set points. The tense set is ended by an equally tense play with a lot of defensive actions. The final touch is made by the hosts, as Denis Bogdan, the Moscow team's libero, drops the ball into the opponent's court with his left hand, resulting in a 30-28 and a 2-0 lead.
In the middle of the third set, the blue-and-white team makes a decisive move towards victory. Anton Semyshev, the outside hitter, executes several brilliant attacks, while Bogdan and Vlasov block and intercept the attacks of their opponent, Vladislav Babkevich. Zenit's head coach, Vladimir Alekno, makes significant changes to the team, and the replacement of Babkevich with Maxim Bocharov, a nominal outside hitter, appears to be a surrender. The match and the series end with Sapozhkov's powerful attack on the net, where he was филигранно guided by Semyshev and Pankov's passes – 25:21, 3:0 in the match, and 3:1 in the semi-final series. Dynamo is in the finals!
