The problem with Infantino's hydration breaks ...
“They are quite clearly not for player welfare, they are so that TV networks can have commercial breaks”
Jonathan Wilson joins Max Rushden and Barry Glendenning to give their views on the much maligned World Cup hydration breaks.
Max mentions that Gianni Infantino claims they are for player welfare primarily, with the coaches being able to pass on tactics to their players as a mere by-product… Barry and Johnathan think otherwise.
Jonathan suggests that if the flow of a game is going to be changed in this way, then there should at least be a discussion about it, whilst Barry reminds us that the game has always provided a moment for the players and the coaches to rest and regroup… It's called half time.
