Week 19 delivered incredible saves across the NHL with highlight-reel glove grabs, sprawling desperation stops, and save-of-the-year candidates.
Linus Ullmark denied Connor McDavid twice in the same game, while Yaroslav Askarov dazzled with multiple spectacular saves against Cole Caufield and the Canadiens. Andrei Vasilevskiy flashed his trademark athleticism with a desperation skate save along the goal line and later robbed Matthew Knies with a vintage stretching blocker stop.
Jacob Markstrom came up huge multiple times this week including a game-saving pad stop on Nick Robertson and another highlight-reel save in the Devils–Rangers rivalry. Juuse Saros delivered a jaw-dropping save-of-the-year candidate against Boston that left the broadcast team shouting “highway robbery!”
Elsewhere, Vitek Vanecek turned aside Bobby Brink and later robbed Connor Bedard with an unbelievable sprawling stop, Jake Oettinger denied Devon Toews in overtime and Scott Wedgewood shined in the shootout with a pair of diving glove saves against Dallas, in the Avalanche-Stars showdown.
