Maggie Wanezek on Sophomore Season So Far: "I'm in a much better place than I was"
Swimming
Sophomore Maggie Wanezek is among the swimmers who have thrived the most amid the coaching change at Wisconsin. A highly-touted recruit out of high school, last season Wanezek went a best time in a November dual meet against Minnesota (50.96) and didn’t crack 51 seconds for the rest of the year.
On Nov 8, in a dual meet against Minnesota, she crushed that best time with a 50.30 that leaves her just outside of the top 25 all-time.
She also won the 200 back in 1:51.60, which was not a best time but was her best time in a dual meet. She was 1:55 in the team’s opener in late September, then 1:53 against Michigan and Notre Dame a month ago.
