Dennis Bernstein Praises Toronto's Raddysh Addition, Questions Hiller Hire

Dennis Bernstein joined Nick Alberga and David Pagnotta to break down a whirlwind week for the Maple Leafs.

The conversation started with Toronto's sign-and-trade acquisition of Darren Raddysh from the Tampa Bay Lightning. Bernstein explained why he likes the move, why the 8-year, $68 million contract doesn't concern him, and what realistic offensive expectations Leafs fans should have for the Toronto native moving forward.

They also discussed Morgan Rielly's future in Toronto, with Bernstein identifying Anaheim as a potential fit if the Leafs ultimately decide to move on from the veteran defenceman.

From there, the trio debated Matthew Knies' value and whether the Leafs should even consider trading him. All three agreed that moving Knies makes little sense unless Toronto receives a true king's ransom in return.

Finally, Bernstein weighed in on the hiring of Jim Hiller as Maple Leafs head coach. Having covered Hiller during his time in Los Angeles, Bernstein admitted he was surprised by the hire, discussed the connection between Hiller and John Chayka, and outlined some of the questions he still has about Toronto's new bench boss.
