The PGA TOUR returns north of the border this week for the RBC Canadian Open, one of the longest-running events on the schedule and the third-oldest championship on the PGA TOUR calendar. TPC Toronto at Osprey Valley’s North Course hosts the national open for the second consecutive year, welcoming one of the strongest fields in tournament history as players make their final preparations for the U.S. Open. Four of the world’s top 10 players are set to tee it up, led by Matt Fitzpatrick, Justin Rose, Tommy Fleetwood and Collin Morikawa, who returns to the event for the first time since 2019. Recent PGA Championship winner Aaron Rai is back in action, while Brooks Koepka makes his first RBC Canadian Open appearance since 2019. Viktor Hovland adds further intrigue in his tournament debut, joining a field that also includes Robert MacIntyre, Sam Burns, Shane Lowry, Wyndham Clark, Tony Finau and Max Homa. Defending champion Ryan Fox returns looking to become the first player since Jhonattan Vegas to successfully defend the title. Home hopes will once again be high, with Corey Conners, Taylor Pendrith, Mackenzie Hughes and rookie Sudarshan Yellamaraju leading a strong Canadian contingent. Mike Weir is also set for his 33rd appearance in Canada’s national championship. In addition to 500 FedExCup points, a place in next week’s U.S. Open is available for the leading player not already exempt, adding another layer of significance to an already stacked championship. With a world-class field and plenty at stake, the RBC Canadian Open is set for another memorable week at TPC Toronto.
