Three wins over Atlanta in 10 days. Season sweep complete.
The Golden State Valkyries held off the Atlanta Dream 88-83 on July 4, 2026, completing the season sweep of Atlanta and pulling within one game of second-place Minnesota in the standings. It was another close one — 10 lead changes in the first half, a three-point deficit heading into the fourth — but the Valkyries found a way when it mattered most.
Veronica Burton was the story, finishing with 21 points, 5 assists, and a backdoor cut layup with 1:38 left that swung the momentum for good. Gabby Williams added 19 points and 3 steals, including a heavily contested layup that all but sealed it. Janelle Salaün came off the bench for 14 clutch points. Kaila Charles hit a corner three to put Golden State up five late, then iced it with two free throws with 6.5 seconds left.
The win also came just days after Williams became the first player in Valkyries history to earn an All-Star starter nod — and coach Natalie Nakase couldn't be more proud of how Williams handled the moment.
