Romania came out strong in the first set, fueled by incredible support from the stands and confident attacking play. They managed to shock one of the tournament favorites by taking the opening set 25–23, putting early pressure on Turkiye and setting the tone for a thrilling battle.

However, from the second set onward, everything changed.

Turkiye raised their level dramatically, showing their true strength and depth. With unstoppable attacking power and much stronger serving, they completely dominated the second set 25–10, shifting momentum entirely in their favor. From that moment on, Turkiye controlled the match, maintaining high intensity and consistency to close out the next two sets 25–20 and 25–17.

The star of the match was Ebrar Karakurt, who delivered an outstanding performance with 26 points, leading her team’s comeback and proving why she is one of the most dangerous opposites in international volleyball. On the Romanian side, Alexia Căruțașu stood out with 17 points, while Adelina Ungureanu made a strong impact, especially in the early stages of the match.

Turkiye showed superiority in key elements such as serving and blocking, finishing with more aces and blocks, which played a crucial role in turning the match around after a slow start.

This match marked a strong beginning for Turkiye, who would go on to dominate Pool D and finish the group stage undefeated, while Romania showed great fighting spirit but struggled to maintain consistency against a top-level opponent.
