Tayte starts with the stock shaft that comes with the driver, and Trevor starts with a premium aftermarket shaft that wasn't fitted to him specifically.

In this video, Trevor and Tayte break down one of the most overlooked parts of a driver: the shaft. We use the same driver head the entire video so the only variable is the shaft. First we run baseline numbers — Tayte hits the stock shaft that came with his driver, and Trevor hits an expensive aftermarket upgrade he was never properly fitted into. Then we swap both onto the shafts they were actually fitted into and re-run the test on the launch monitor. The gains in ball speed, carry distance, and dispersion show exactly how much performance a lot of mid-handicap golfers are leaving on the table by playing the wrong shaft.
